Installing the SCSI General Driver.

This shows the installation of the scg driver on a Sun computer running Solaris 7.

Back to the how to write a CD page.

First, get scg-sparc-sol2.4.beta and SCHILYscg.sparc.tar.Z, and copy scg-sparc-sol2.4.beta to /kernel/drv, renaming it as "scg" as described on the how to write a CD page. The output below is produced after copying the SCHILYscg.sparc.tar.Z file to the /tmp directory, then uncompressing and untarring it. You should do a reconfiguration reboot after installation of the scg driver is complete. Connect your CD writer and set the desired SCSI address before starting, so that your Sun can see it during the reboot. Stuff typed by you is in bold.

  cp scg-sparc-sol2.4.beta /kernel/drv/scg
  uncompress SCHILYscg.sparc.tar.Z
  tar -xvf SCHILYscg.sparc.tar

root 14# pkgadd -d .
